Local Stake Holders Meeting held on 16/02/2010 for Clean Development Mechanism Project under the Kyoto Protocol in the premises of CORONATION POWER AND GAS LTD.

In order to mitigate the climate change impact caused due to emissions of Greenhouse Gases (GHGs) from fossil fuel based energy generation, Coronation Power and Gas Limited (CPGL) has taken up a new project activity. Under the project activity, we are installing Natural Gas based electricity generation and heat recovery system. This lower carbon intensive measure will reduce the emissions compared to common diesel / oil based energy generation.

This project activity would significantly reduce the emissions of GHGs (CO2) to the atmosphere and hence would contribute to the global efforts towards combating global warming. Coronation Power and Gas Limited (CPGL) would like to undertake this project as Clean Development Mechanism (CDM) under the Kyoto Protocol (the details of the mechanism is available at www.unfccc.int and will also be available at the venue and time of the local stakeholder meeting).

Coronation Power and Gas Limited, CPGL, as required by the protocol under the CDM, would like to understand the concerns and opinions of the stakeholders at the outset. The local stakeholder consultation would thereby help Coronation Power and Gas Limited will address the queries of the local stakeholders and improve in its contribution to sustainable development.

The local stakeholder meeting will be convened at Coronation Power & Gas, Km 39 Lagos -Abeokuta Express way, Sango-Ota, Ogun State, Nigeria, from 11am to 1pm on 16/02/2010.
